LMR recently completed the standing seam zinc roof coverings to the impressive new synagogue in Altrincham. Health and safety was very much in the forefront of everyone’s mind due to the steep pitch of one of the main roofs. A specialist access company were consulted to supply a specific system to allow our operatives to install the zinc panels in the safest manner possible.
Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams Architects specified Zinc for the roof coverings for its harmonious appearance against the other building finishes. Longworth successfully designed and installed the zinc coverings, using a traditional standing seam system fully supported on a timber substrate.
A fully ventilated zinc rainscreen system was also installed adjacent to the main entrance to the synagogue. The panels were installed vertically and incorporated 20mm shadow gaps, with a accurately designed back vented and drained cavity..
