Longworth Metal Roofing have recently completed the installation of a new stainless steel roof on the new build section of Plas Coch stately home.
LMR were employed by Frank Galliers Ltd who had been awarded a £3.5m contract for a project at Plas Coch, Anglesey.
The combination of a restoration and new-build project for Plas Coch, formerly a stately home, includes a swimming pool, beauty treatment facilities and club lounge. The plan is to retain the original features of the magnificent house, whilst incorporating modern aspects, including the use of glass, wood and steel to give a contemporary feel to enhance and reflect the exclusive holiday home resort, set in 60 acres of stunning parkland on the banks close to the Menai Straits.
LMR constructed the full roof build up direct from the main structural steel. The roof construction consisted of timber bearers, a D35 Corus metal deck, 100mm thick TR26 insulation. The Follansbee stainless steel roof covering was fastened to the roof construction using the warmfast peg system. The TCS offers a long life span due to it’s improved corrosion resistance, with an environmentally sensitive lead - free alloy composition. The stainless steel will develop a warm grey patina over 12 – 18 months.
